TheRealMez is procrastinating... and thinking of drawing

Hah, well, I never took that trip into town did I.

I totally wasn’t expecting this but I received my EMA bonus of £100 a few days ago! I didn’t think I would get it this year as my grades have gone-... well… they slipped a little as I tried to get myself a social life. =\

Aaaanyway that brings me up to £200 at present – that’s without the traded jewellery and games. I’ve also decided I’m gonna get rid of my old Green Day CDs that are just gathering dust. There’s a second-hand music shop opened recently in town so I’m gonna look in there and see if anything can be done… it’ll only be beans but every penny counts right?

I hope and pray these things will be done either today (it’s 3:30am lol) or on Monday.

Ok I can’t remember what crap I was talking about 18 months ago. I quit that job right off, and cleaning for my sister didn’t work out, as well as me no longer getting the £50/month.

    So we’ll start again.

I currently have £40 in the bank. I have £60 coming to me next week. I’m also taking a trip into town tomorrow to get some old jewellery I’ve never worn valued and trading some video games in… I know I won’t get much for those but I don’t play them any more and every penny counts.

This trip into town is pretty good as I have 3 goals entwined – I intend to walk the 2 miles there, I am disposing of things I no longer need or use, and I should be getting some money out of it, as well as looking for a job, which I think should maybe be my next goal.

EDIT: I almost forgot, I also have an incentive for getting together as much money as possible now: a daytrip to London at the end of September.

This is for no reason, other than having money is nice, so if I see something I like, I can buy it. I actually want to keep a sort of… weekly financial blog or something, just so I can see where the money goes etc.

I get £30/week through EMA (only for the weeks I’m at college), then I recently got a job where I do about 16 hours a weekend roughly… I don’t actually know my hourly pay yet, but assuming it’s minimum wage (£3-something) I should get £48/week, and I also get £50/month from my sister, which she gives to me because it’s expendable to her… she’s awesome. That’s potentially £350+/month, which is alot for a nearly 17 y/o student with virtually no expenses at all. =O

I currently have £40 in the bank and I’m trying hard not to draw any out to go buy ice cream. So far I’ve worked 3 days in my new job (had one off due to cold =|) and not been paid yet. I’m hoping that’s gonna happen before New Year. The boss said he would be paying everyone soon anyway, soon as in before Christmas, two weekends ago (my first week) but he didn’t. That worries me ever so slightly.

That’s enough rambling for now anyway. I’ll update soon, probably when I get paid…..
