The camino is everywhere 3 months ago

Yesterday as a challenge I walked across the quicksands of Morecambe bay along with about 500 other people. The journey in total was around 9 miles (14 km). We did this to raise money for various charities. The journey had it’s hardships, trials and leaps of faith. As I walked I was constantly reminded of my journey yet to come, the Camino de Santiago, for the path we followed was littered with scallop shells.

A pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela 3 months ago

I visited Santiago de Compostela a couple of years ago by plane and I vowed the next time I visited it would be on foot. I intend to walk the whole way from Manchester, England to Santiago, Spain. I figured at a half decent pace I should be able to cover the whole journey in 9 months, possibly a two year round trip if I’m still in a condition to complete such a journey.

Walking To Santiago 13 months ago

Starting to plan for this walk. Which is the best route? What is the best time to go? We were thinking at the end of the season October?

    Back ! 2 years ago

So this year I walked some 200 or 250 kilometres more, from Aumont-Aubrac to Saint-Sulpice. I might elaborate a bit more, later, about how it was. Here’s a pic, for now.

    Am planning 2 years ago

    a almost-three-weeks walk in may… Can’t wait !

    T'was 3 years ago

    definitly great !

Wethear was great (not so warm on the first two days, then brilliant), coutryside was beautifull, and most of all, people were so sympathic… The ones who welcomed us in their homes, and the ones we walked with. Three of them accompanied us to the train station on the last day, and we just didn’t want to leave each others… I would have given so much to go on walking for one or two weeks, seemed like real life’s there…

And I was with my cousin, and it was good to share this with her.

Leaving tomorrow ! 3 years ago

In the end, L. is coming with me. She’s my 19 years old cousin, so though I’m not contributing to this goal, this one will improve, and that’s cool !!

I walked it for 5 days last summer 3 years ago

with a friend of mine. We didn’t particularly want to walk on the camino, but it’s the 5 days walk we found in the Pyrénées. And we really enjoyed the fact that it was the Santigo de Compostela path… Exchanges with people were very rich, and though I’m not a believer, I really liked the spirituality of all this…

I think I’m gonna make a 4 days walk at the end of may, it should be possible to walk from Le Puy to Aumont-Aubrac... And I think I’m gonna do it alone, it might be great…

And then, later, or a little bit each year, I would really like to walk the whole way to Santiago…
