If only everyone would do this. It (hopefully) makes you realize that no one has all the answers, but everyone has some. Each religion or belief system is like a little slice of the big God pie. Yours is not the WHOLE thing, but simply a part of something far too vast to be contained by one group of people who wrote one group of books during one span of time.
Studying religion is so fascinating and rewarding. It helps you look at and understand cultures and beliefs that are different from your own. You can gain appreciation for others by studying their religion. And studying what is different often results in a broader sense of unity with others as you find that it’s not all that different, when you come right down to it.
I’m not really sure how I could help someone do this, but I would be willing to try! I’d like to do more studying myself, perhaps get a masters in religion someday.
