I am a serious sufferer of Second Sock Syndrome. I have at least 10 half done and long ago abandoned projects sitting in my knitting basket. My attention span is too short.
I need to finish them before the moths do!

My home is like a UFO graveyard. I need to finish a few sweaters, some socks, and some other things. Then I can feel ok about casting on more stuff to finish.

Going to Call This Done for Now!  — 1 month ago

Worth doing!

So far this year I’ve finished about 8 FO’s (finished objects) but the point is that they have been finished!! YAY.

I’m going to call this goal done so I can add some new goals.

Two More Dishcloths Finished for my daughter  — 1 month ago

Worth doing!

Over the weekend I finished the second dishcloth of the two that I am planning to send to Dylan.

I hope she will like them. I really like using the handknit ones instead of store bought ones. Since she doesn’t have a dishwasher, I imagine she can use them often! (at least I hope so !)

back, baby!  — 1 month ago

I’m FINALLY back into a knitting project, using Colinette Prism in Neptune.

I bought this yarn when my favorite, and local, yarn store closed. The owner was moving on to exciting things in her life, but it was still sad for us, the customers. I decided to “treat” myself to something nice, and bought two skeins of this at closeout price.

Since then, they’ve been sitting in the plastic bag they came in!

Until yesterday I had been puzzling over what to do with such a bright, variegated, and textured yarn. Personally, I like small projects, socks with cables or hats with argyle, etc. But I couldn’t figure what would work. Duh! Keep It Simple, Stupid! So I’m making a regular ol’ 2×2 rib scarf, what will hopefully be a lovely, relaxing, simple project!

I Can't stop Knitting These dishcloths....  — 2 months ago

Worth doing!

LOL!

Over the weekend, I finished another one. The picture here is a close up of the design. I enjoyed making this one, and I learned a new technique which was carrying along a bobbin to make the left hand border.

I’m going to make this one again, but next time I am going to use a darker solid color yarn to make the border.

Yet Another Dishcloth....  — 2 months ago

Worth doing!

Knitting these dishcloths is addictive! This latest one is called “Dragonfly and His Dinner”. There are little purled bumps that are supposed to represent mosquitos for the dragonfly’s dinner.

Another Dishcloth!  — 2 months ago

Worth doing!

I found some dishcloth patterns I liked on Ravelry, now I can’t stop making them! This is the third one that I have made, and I like it the best of all three so far.

Now that I am cranking them out, I finally have the nerve to actually use one for the dishes! I’m just worried that the colors will fade when I wash them, but I can always make more!

Finally, an Update on my catnip mouse....  — 4 months ago

Worth doing!

My darling daughter finally returned home to New York with the catnip mouse I made for her cat Bebop. Apparently, it was a huge hit. It’s probably more because the cat is a catnip junkie, rather than the mouse being a great work of art. grin.
