We sprung for what seemed to us an expensive mattress, though not the most expensive. C had sticker shock. I think it will be worth it. Got me a new pillow, too. It’s getting delivered tomorrow. 2 weeks ago

My husband has finally come around and agreed to get a new bed. (He comes around to things eventually, but I’ve learned to give him time. He generally doesn’t like “adult furniture” and other signs of permanence. lol)

Our goal is to get one before my mom’s visit, but of course we’ve both been so busy that we’ve been awfully slow. C’s actually agreeing to get a “real mattress” instead of a futon, which is pretty cool I think. He could probably sleep anywhere, but I have been having issues with how bad our bed is for some time. As usual we’ve left it until the last minute, but we’re going to check out a local furniture store this weekend that I’ve liked in the past. They have good prices and don’t work on commission so it’s very low pressure. They don’t have as much selection as somewhere that specializes in beds, but I think it might work for us because we’re actually not that picky. They can deliver right away, so if we get a bed, we don’t have to wait that long for it like some places.

We’ll move the futon frame to the spare room and get a new futon for it that will work a bit better as a couch than the one we have now (and is new) so that we can have a guest bed. 3 weeks ago

this old one is killing me. I’ve been waking up at odd hours in the night as though my mattress has been pummeling me with its lumps & hard springs. It takes forever to get back to sleep. ow. so tired. 23 months ago
