So Kim’s dietician suggests that we try this exchange system, rather than counting calories, which can be quite tedious! We figure that we’ll give it a shot…but not until after her parents leave town. Can’t pass up on all these free meals!!!

PROGRESS 3 months ago

Since relocating to Denver nearly two months ago, I have lost over 10 lbs., which can be attributed specifically to dietary changes. I’m still in the process of refining my diet but eventually it will get to where it needs to be.
I am also planning to incorporate some exercise into my daily regimen, starting in August. This will include several days of swimming (lap and water exercise), as well as several days of martial arts training.

I’ve been being a lot healthier lately :))
I don’t snack as much, I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, I exercise at least five times a week (at leastttt), and I drink more water. I loose control sometimes, but I’ve improved a million times since I made this goal. :D

New Year's Resolution 2009 10 months ago

As I approach the age of 35 I am making a commitment to eat healthier and be healthier!
Over the past two years, I have put on nearly 45 lbs which can be attributed in good part to both my diet and my lack of activity. I know that by eating healthier and incorporating some moderate activity into my daily routine, I will both feel better and look better, thus leading to a healthier, happier me!!!

Tweeking the goal. 18 months ago

Well sort of…I now have the mind set of eating healthier. So, I’m now going on to a different goal for the summer months. Eating more salads, fresh veggies and fruits.

I may come back to this goal in the fall.

Salad anyone? 18 months ago

I think because it’s spring and warmer, I have been motivated to have my family eat healthier. I’ve been making some awesome salads for dinner. I just found a little cookbook titled “Salads”. I’m making a meal plan for next week with several salads on the menu.

The kids enjoy salads, so why not salads? I really ever thought of salads for the main course. Simply and healthy.

Super Suppers Here I Come... 19 months ago

Ok…I’m failing on this goal. It’s not that “difficult” to eat healthier, is it? It is, if your (me) not organized in planning dinners. I seem to plan at the last minute, often giving into the quick and easy meal.

So…as I was dropping off my son at an activity, I notice Super Suppers. A place where you go in and prepare your meals there. They have the ingredients for all the meals listed for that week. Wow, they made it easy for me!! I can say “I made it” and “eat healthier”.

I looked at the prices and first thought, it’s expensive. I then realized that it just might not be!! When I go into the grocery store, I not only buy the items I need, but about $30 dollors worth of additional items and then, I must add in the extra $20 or more that I get back when the cashier/machine kindly asks “Do you mant change back ~ $20, $30, $40…” .

Another thought, going to Super Suppers will hopefully, give me the knowledge on how EASY it would be to plan and eat healthier. Just get organized. Organized – a word that I’m beginning to learn on my journey.

Got to do this…Got to do this…..GOT TO DO THIS! Why am I having such a hard time doing this?? Why am I sabatoging myself? Why can’t I seem to follow through on my desire to achieve this goal? This is so important to me! I’m worth treating myself with respect, honor and discipline.

Big Macs healthy? 19 months ago

Two nights in a row I have prepared healthy dinners for my family. It’s not as difficult as I thought it would be or time consuming. I’ll make up a dinner-plan for the rest of the week to help me stay on task and continue to make healthy dinners!

Need to learn more about nutrition…what I may think is healthy just may not be.

Goodbye fast food for dinners. 19 months ago

My first step towards this really great goal is to NOT allow or have fast food as an option for dinner. Sorry Kids!
