Stop talking about politics

I hate politics and although I care, I dont really care what other people have to say! :)
most of it is something they heard from propaganda and not something they themselves know.
The only thing I debate are 9/11 conspiracies because I’m tired of people spouting out nonsense that they heard from a “scientist”.
I just read as much as I can and make my own opinions and keep them to myself.

I’m still learning when to shut up about politics. It has improved my life so much! Now if I could only get some of the people around me to stop talking about politics, then the world would be just rosy! :-)

Well, I have managed to keep it quiet so I am making room for other goals

I keep saying that I want to stop talking about politics and yet somehow I find myself in heated arguments over it, over and over again. Why do I keep doing this? I can’t say for sure, sometimes people drag me into it, other times I instigate it. I’ve never really accomplished anything by debating, other than getting stressed out and annoyed. I don’t think I have ever concluded something to some perfect resolution. And I don’t think we ever really learn anything debating because it is such an emotionally charged issue, people tend to stick to their ideas no matter how ludicrous they seem to the other party. For now I choose to boycott. We’ll see where that leads. The trick is doing it. I’d like to find a list of “new subjects” to quickly change the topic when caught in a jam.

I’ve realized that you are always going to alienate someone when you talk about politics and NOBODY EVER WINS A POLITICAL ARGUMENT!!! Today, politics aren’t just about governmental issues…people have drug religion into it and political correctness and it’s just gotten ridiculous.

I love my friends…even if I hate their politics. I’m going to be the bigger person and start walking away from political conversations. Arguing with my friends won’t change the way things are. I’m going to ignore them when they start ranting about our government. I’ll focus my attention on more worthwhile things…like my son or husband for instance…and not let the ugliness of politics ruin all the beauty there is in life.
