is Mother’s Day, but we celebrated my birthday with my family today, too. My mother made an Italian Cream Cake (yummy white cake that is sinfully good with coconut and pecans in the cake with a cream cheese icing topped with more pecans). We all went to a Japanese steakhouse. I ordered an eel sushi roll along with some calamari tempura. I’d never tried calamari, but it was really good! I love eating with chopsticks, too. (Funny how I can do that and be as uncoordinated as I am.) 7 years ago

when my retirement company sent me a birthday postcard and the talk radio station I listen to sent me a birthday e-mail. Then I saw the goal be put up about wishing me a very happy birthday. Everyone’s words there are something I will treasure forever. Then yesterday, the day of my birthday, I got even more messages on-site wishing me a good day, and my heart felt all your love and became filled with it. Last night a few friends and I went to Olive Garden and bought my dinner and dessert. It was Chicken Giardino on whole wheat linguini with one bread stick and two servings of salad. For dessert I had my first ever tiramisu. I also sampled chocolate lasagne. (Chocolate lasagne is not for the faint of heart, that is the richest stuff I’ve ever tasted!) Last night was also my church Bible study night and some people got together in the crowded lobby to sing happy birthday to me and I also had it sung to me at the restaurant, too. (I’m kind of shy about stuff like that in real life, and was told that I did quite a bit of blushing.) Another surprise that happened yesterday was I got some irises and tulips delivered to me at home by a very thoughtful friend. Before I ended, the day, I also got to talk to another outstanding friend of mine until around 1:30 a.m. who I don’t get to speak to very often. It was special to get to talk to her!
I won’t mark this done until Sunday or so, because my family celebration isn’t until Sunday. (Yeah that’s Mother’s Day, but it’s also convenient for the rest of the family, too.) Well, actually some people are taking me out to dinner on next Wednesday, too, for my birthday.
I think dwlt’s longest birthday ever might actually be right! :D 7 years ago
