My mom came from Mexico for six months last year. She went to every possible garage sale going on and bought as much crap as possible. Of course putting all the blame on her is all too easy. I also did my own old books garage shopping and other useless stuff (the books will not be useless if I actually read them). I also got some clothes a friend gave me for me to give to some clients but I have not gotten to it. I had enough since disorganization puts my life upside-down. This last weekend, September 20-something I finally gathered about 15 bags and took them to Good-will. Now I have to organize the garage in sections (clothes, tools, toys, etc) and I will hopefully make it to have a garage sale this weekend. I cannot wait to feel my life in order, I feel stressed and out of control!!

Cebu is training again.
This should be a relatively easy goal to accomplish. My garage is not terrible just a little cluttered. Among the tasks included in this project are installing a pulley system to hang my cargo carrier from the ceiling and addding an attic trap door access ladder.

3 car garage

yeah, and how many cars do I park in there? Nada.. Between my shrimp farm (7 aquariums), antique furniture that is in different stages of restoration, boxes and boxes of things no longer needed, recycle containers, woodworking tools, foos ball table, gym equipment, 6 adult bicycles, yada yada yada… plus 4 huge gorilla racks for storage.. My goal is to somehow have the room to use everything and still be able to park 2 cars in my garage.

There is help!
After dealing with a messy garage for years, I decided to deal with it and take control of my life again. As a single mother, I can depend only on myself to take care of everything. Finally, after so much despair, I found a Website with different kinds of shelves that hang from the ceiling or the wall. They were very easy and quick to install, even for a woman (like me) with no knowledge about tools. Now my garage looks great, everything has its place and I can claim my parking space again. Ah I almost forgot to say how many great ideas I got from this site. I’m organizing my entire home. NO MORE CLUTTER. If you want to check it out: www.quickshelf.com

Is a black hole of stuff.
I have so much CRAP in my garage that I am currently convinced that If I venture far enough in, that I may never get out!
I want to restore my old truck this winter.
In order to do that, I need a place. I live in Buffalo, NY (In one of the snow band areas) so working in 3-5 feet of snow during the winter just doesn’t work for me…
I have a Garage! Normal people can park their cars in their Garage… I’m far from normal though.
It’s probably not as bad as the mental picture you are getting… but it’s definately bad enough. I own a computer company, so I have piles of old machines.
I just replaced the engine in my Jeep (this spring) and I have all sorts of Jeep parts in there, Also a new garage door, piles of wood, Woodworking an Mechanics tools, Jacks, the old engine block, books and my server are all over the place.
ok… Maybe it IS as bad as your mental picture…
Anyways. I really need to work on this.

Although I hate all the stuff everywhere, I can’t seem to get it under control. Time is a huge factor. I have a tendancy to just drop it in the garage and go, and never get back to it. It’s not horrible by most, but I hate it. I need 30 hours in a day; or a bulldozer.

Right now, I can only get one of our two cars in the garage. My side is jammed with a lawnmower, bikes, empty boxes, and random junk. I clean it out once every couple of months, but our house can’t handle empty space and things always gravitate to it and fill it up. I’d like to build a shelving system out of wood (those metal shelves fall apart and aren’t sturdy for heavier items) to get things up and out of the way.

Katy is happily making lesson plans!
Man, it’s scary out there. But I really can’t organize a thing until all the snow melts and I can use the driveway as temporary storage while I go through all this CR@P! I bet Jimmy Hoffa is buried somewhere under old lawnmowers and empty computer boxes.
