The corks are collected, now I need to know how
How to make a corkboard out of wine corks
How I did it: The toughest thing about this project is collecting enough corks. Happily, some great people sent some to me. After that, I just got a frame, some backing, and my hot glue gun, and then went to town!

Yay! With help in obtaining corks from some friends over at bookcrossing.com, I was able to put a corkboard together this month, and it was so easy! Check out my new board on my blog: http://jennannej.blogspot.com/2009/01/craftiness.html
Just finishing up this project, I had 108 corks collected up and it resulted in about a foot by foot board. I haven’t built the trim for this guy just yet though, looking for a better way then I had done. Fun project to put together, but you have to store up a lot of corks to get a good sized end piece.
How would you cut the cork in half without it falling apart? i want to do this so i have more to work with.

approximately how many corks do you need to do this? 40? 400? 4000?
I’ve got an OK collection of corks, we’ve nearly finished renovations….and I’ve found a spot in the kitchen for a groovy home made cork board.
thought I had enough corks, but it turns out I need like 300 more. I drink a lot of wine, but that’s still like a year or more wait to save up the corks. I feel I should earn the board too, so no cheating. :)
After 2 years of saving corks I had enough to complete this project and gave it as a Christmas gift. It was not as easy to complete as many of the directions that I had read make it out to be, but it was worth the work.
