I would definitely learn to ride well. Whenever I am stressed out I ride and I feel so much better, so free! I still need to learn alot but ive been riding for almost 10 years. DO IT!
Now I am taking exclusivly hunt seat lessons from a great teacher. She’s very patient but firm and I’m learning so much. The barn where I take lessons specifically added on to the indoor arena so that she could have her own stalls and space for tack. I take lessons with a friend. Had a lesson today and focused on posting. I took lessons for about six months then my instructor left the barn. I then took a few lessons with another instructor but he decided to work with more experienced riders. Then I waited until last fall and tried again with someone else—that didn’t work out. She was an inexperienced teacher. So now I’m taking lessons at the first barn I started at. I’ve taken four lessons and am thinking of leasing a horse.
My friend has a horse & I learn that way. Also, I learned by going to Tenn. to go horseback riding and learning how to ride a horse.
i have already done pony club for 3 years and have also done my first pony club and came third which was good…
and i hoped to buy a horse but i couldnt find any were to agist in my price range and area so now i just go to pony club and ride their horse…..

I actually got to sit on the horse this week and walk her around the arena, hooray! It’s all bareback and halter-only, which is totally different to anything I’ve ever done before, and heaps of fun. Hard to balance, though, with no saddle or stirrups.

The people there teach natural horsemanship, so I spent the first lesson just leading my horse around, working on getting her to do things like give her head, turn in circles, stop, and back up when I wanted her to.
It was kind of cool, though I was a little disappointed I didn’t spend any time actually in the saddle.

They’re pretty expensive, so I probably shouldn’t (I’m meant to be saving to pay off my debts!) But I figure perhaps I can only go every couple of weeks, and then it won’t cost tooo much?
The place I’m looking into seems pretty nice, they teach natural horsemanship as well as regular riding, and seem to take good care of their horses.
It would be nice to get out riding again. I did it a little as a child and it was really fun. A little scary, especially the jumping, but definately fun.
I’ve been riding now since last year and its absolutely awesome!! I am just in the process of buying a horse so that we can go to competitions together and learn more together. It is such an amazing feeling when riding, expecially at stop speed out on a hack!
Hello! I’m a riding instructor student, hoping to graduate next year. I’m kind of sucky rider, not very talented but still love it. I’ve decided that it will become my profession and nothing else interests me the same way. I guess there’s going to be a lot of work then
