I’m getting somewhere closer to been “okay” with by learning “Devil Stick”. Its hard work though, unlike Poi it’s a lot more involved, you have to constantly focus on what the Stick is doing, where Poi only ever do as you direct.
I had a go with my friends Stick as well, which is a lot more difficult, because my learning Stick is designed to spin slower in the air, and is banded so it “grips” the control sticks even if you lose most of the motion out of it.
I’m practicing lots still, and it doesn’t need as much space as Poi, so I do it inside (In a room with nothing to brakeable close) fairly easily.

After seeing Professor Fiddlesticks last week, along with a couple of my friends our new toy of choice over the holiday next week looks likely to be Devil Sticks.
For those who don’t know, Devil Sticks consist of two control sticks you hold on in each hand, and a balanced stick you bounce (Or juggle) between the two sticks, keeping it in the air, spinning around, flip it and so on.
It looks pretty easy, but I’m not sure it I’ll get on as well as I do with Poi, as this doesn’t seem as fluid – Poi I know exactly where they are going (To the point I can do it with my eyes closed)
Anyway, I have a week away in wales, so by the time I come back, I want to be able to at least do basic Devil Stick tricks without trouble.
