chigaroogarem is looking forward to my upcoming graduation.
I just recently returned from my first trip abroad…something I’ve been meaning to do for years. It was definitely a worthwhile experience, although it was not exactly what I had expected (I’m not sure what I expected).
Anyway, as I deplaned in Colombia, I felt a little uneasy about it all—it didn’t help that the girl next to me on the flight was telling me horror stories of how the customs officials loved to hound Americans! However, in the end, there was nothing to it. Although they looked a little intimidating (with there AK’s), they were quite helpful and once we started talking I felt right at ease.
Next stop…Italy in November!
About bloody time I say! As that travel bug has had me itching for months now, and I thought I just might go mad with cabin fever if I didn’t get away! ....(More mad than “normally” that is).
Studying in a foreign country is the best way to get stamps in your passport, along with residence stickers and other funky things. Just go home for holidays every six months, travel to a nearby country, and so on.
I leave for England in about 1 month and i cant wait for the stamp! I will also be traveling to scotland and i hope to get one there too!
Passports, stamps, all signs that lead to travel, new adventures, another memory made, filed , and slotted into place. But why I ask, are the border people so damned cheap about handing out their little stamps?!!! All I ask is to get a stamp for each boarder crossing ,... but noooo…it’s a myth, it’s more like ten to one, which ,after awhile ,gets a little pricey, not to mention time consuming. So I have had to resort to hiding in my basement, and making my own conterfeit border crossing stamps. I now live in fear of being found out by “Big Brother’ , jump at the slightest sound,( though it could be the coffee), and have gone as far as making up fake country stamps. So far I have crossed threethousand borders, including such places as ,Nowhereville,Laughmyassoff,Runtheirontous,Won’tdothatagain,Hellanback,Myfeethurt,Outofmoola,Isthatkosher,RUkidding,Gotcoffee,Diduknow.
