Get a Tablet PC

I still really want one. And now they’re affordable (both because they’re cheaper and because I have more monies!). I can get a brand new convertible tablet for about $950, and I’m looking at a used slate soon as well. If I buy the new one, I will have to sell my current laptop, but that’s okay considering I won’t need to use it anymore. The used one being a slate, I would probably still hang on to the old laptop for those times when a keyboard would be really nice. (And the fact I’m a complete nerd.)

I’m leaning toward the new one because of the battery. The used one also weighs about the same, so I wouldn’t be gaining any portability by buying the slate. The old one will be the winner if it costs less than what I can buy the new one after I’ve sold the old one. So, about $500-ish.

I’ve also looked at ultra portable devices, but they’re not really what I need right now with class. I’m really looking forward to recording lectures with my notes, and writing everything rather than typing so often (which is aggravating my fingers and wrists). I also might buy a monitor that can do DVI and VGA, so I can buy a dock and have dual screens for both my tablet AND my desktop with only three screens!

Time to stop geeking out, and start homeworking again. On a lab desktop of course…pbth.

Can you imagine me with a tablet? Sometimes I’m glad I don’t have a real job and I’m not making real money or I’d spend it all on toys…

CAN I SAY SOMETHING?! ?! ?! I promised myself that this year, before my birthday (June 29th) i am gonna BUY THIS SHIT! Even if i could affort for only the smallest. I DONT CARE, I WANT IT!

IM GONNA BUY IT!

I bought a laptop that suits my needs for now.

First, because I need a mobile computer for school anyway.
Second, because I like to write my notes, but tend to lose or ruin paper.
Third, because my friends don’t have them and we’re always trying to out-nerd each other.
Fourth, because I’m getting a degree in human-computer interaction and I would like to be using current technology so I know what I’m going to have to fix later after I graduate.

I am really starting to realize that most tablet PCs are not powerful enough for my basic needs. As a result, I’m tossing this goal.

I figured i don’t need a Tablet PC Because I got a laptop.

I’m learning about how to use a PC everyday. It doesn’t have built in bluetooth but there is a lot that can be done. It’s sort of helpful in my job but it does take awhile to document things. I was hoping to use it as a all in one record keeper, I’m recording meetings with audio, and doing screen captures. If you have a tablet make sure you go and get those powertoys and entertainment pack and.. the list goes on!

I’ve been planning to give myself a convertible/tablet to myself when I start a real job. 3 weeks ago I started my interview with a company now, then I got them to buy the laptop of my dreams (for today’s standards)..
