Loco "there is no fate but what we make for ourselves"

a work in progress 15 months ago

while i say i want to lose weight, i really want to lose FAT! when i was measured for body fat in the lab in june, i was 18.8% body fat. the next time they test us, i’d really love to be in the 15% range!

ive been eating leaner since then, and have been really trying to get all my strength workouts in! i also have been doing cardio but i need to be more consistent about it. after the superlong training day though sometimes its hard to want to stick around for another half hour!

ive lost about 1.5 pounds since when i was measured, which isnt that much but i’m hoping its all fat and i gained a little muscle!

I haven’t measured it, but my body fat has decreased a lot and I can see my abs (though not well) so I think I’m around here.

    15% by July 1, 2007 or bye-bye laptop! 2 years ago

Well, here goes. I am getting married on July 7, 2007, and I am determined to get down to 15% body fat by July 1. I’m currently at 20% bf/144 lbs (I’m 5’6”), so that would require shedding about 14-16 lbs of legitimate fat with minimal lean mass loss. I tried to think of something personally significant to give up in the event that I fail to reach my goal by my specified deadline that wouldn’t cause inconvenience to anyone else. Money was the first thing that came to mind, but I really can’t afford to give up much of that with wedding costs coming up, so I am putting my treasured Dell 600m laptop on the chopping block.

If I don’t make it to my goal by July 1, I am donating my digital baby to charity. I use my laptop 90% of the time when I’m at home versus my more powerful desktop system and rely on it for an appalling amount of things. Frankly, I feel a horrible sense of doom, panic, and dread when I contemplate the loss of the laptop, so I think this is a very good motivator to keep me on track with my nutrition, cardio, and weights.
