How to adopt a cat that I think is a girl and find out she's really a boy. Do it twice.
It made me
embarrassed 
"It's humbling with the vet feels down there and tells you your girl cat is really a boy."
How I did it: Both cats were neutered, and I didn't feel around. When I took each one to the vet, the vet's face looked funny when she was feeling around. For some reason, at that point I knew. I said, "She's a boy, isn't she?"
Lessons & tips: Don't assume the girl cat is a boy.
