Oi. I guess maybe we went out for ice cream a bit too often in those summer days leading up to JT’s birthday. :-)
I’m left with 19lbs. That’s more than I wanted to deal with… so we’ll see how it goes.

Well, anything can happen from here, I guess. But they say gaining 25-35 pounds is healthy. And since I haven’t gained any in the first 12 weeks, I think a goal of 30 pounds by the time the baby is born in July is a healthy aim.
With my first baby, I gained a whopping 65 pounds. I took advantage of every opportunity to eat whatever I wanted, including LOTS and LOTS of ice cream! The only reason I didn’t weigh more than my DH was that he gained a little… either out of sympathy or because he usually was the one making the grocery store/ice cream parlor runs.
This time around, I want to keep it to the recommended 25 pounds. I am in week 16 and doing well so far… only about 8 pounds gain so far. I try to limit how much I eat, avoid sugary foods (hard as that is), and eat generally healthier foods. Any other advice or strategies for me?
