Not walking enough now though…need to work on that.
How to walk for cancer
How I did it: I did the walk with my 10 year old son and it was great to seeing him motivated to help others. It was mostly great to see him realize that what he was doing was so valuable. He didn't understand what a difference ONE person makes. Now he does.
It didn't matter that we didn't walk all 12 hours, we took breaks, sang songs, made a party out of it. It was even more fun knowing that we made a difference.
Lessons & tips: Bring lots of socks and water.
Resources: friends.

I’m raising funds for cancer research by doing the Relay for life walk from 7pm to 7am. I’m bringing my 10 year old with me!
I’m on the committe to organize the next local American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I volunteered last relay, but I didn’t actually walk. I did fundraise though.
I didn’t actually get to walk, I had to work. But I did raise money for the cause even though I didn’t walk.
Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that I am participating in a unique and exciting event called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer that will be held in Peterborough on Sunday, Oct. 14. This is the American Cancer Society’s 3-mile walk to raise awareness and money to defeat breast cancer. I hope you will join me in my efforts to help fight this disease that more than 180,000 women and men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with this year.

All contributions are tax deductible and will support the lifesaving research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs of the American Cancer Society.
