I think that I may be able to do this this summer – it looks like I don’t need a visa in advance, and flights from the UK are quite cheap, so I really don’t have an excuse not to. I’m going to try to get to Turkey this August.

I’ve been to Greece and not Turkey and I’m Turkish? My father is from there and, while he hasn’t been back as long as I’ve been alive and I don’t have relatives that I know of living there, it’s obscene that I haven’t been yet.
My goal is to visit in the next year.

i spent part of my teen years in izmir, turkey and i’d love to go back. i have some really happy memories of the town and people, and can’t wait to see what changes have happened since i’ve been gone.
