ive done it :] i just really didn’t want to eat meat anymore. so, there wasn’t really temptation. :]
How to be a vegetarian for a year
How I did it: I decided to go cold turkey on meats! OMG the first month was so hard but after that my parents understood and so did everyone else around me. I also had to go and cut out all meat products, although I did cut out some other animal products I did not become a vegan so i was able to still eat pretty good, but i think that all of the different things that I ate were aweful, especially all the junk food I used to make up for what I wasn't getting out of the meat I was missing out on.
Lessons & tips: Don't replace meats with junk food!! It's horrible for you!
Resources: PETA! Seeing how badly animals were treated and then slaughtered.

im in my nineth month now! im going to Norway in December though, so I’ll be eating meat because I need to try all the food, so Im not disappointed to be stopping then. I’ve made it this far, and it feels great!
I put this on my list of New year’s resolutions. The first day I woke up and had bacon, oops! The next day I had Wisconson Cheese soup with ham in it, OOpS! Finally, on January 3rd, I began my vegitarian(ism). I’m a little lazy, or careless with it. At prom I had cream of chiken and rice and just ate around the chicken. But fo the most part I haven’t given up yet and don’t plan on it.

As much as I don’t really want to, I’ve found that I need better sources of protein that are available when eating out as a vegetarian… It was costing me too much energy and how I was feeling. So I grudgingly have started eating some fish…

I eat it everyday. It would be a huge boost to say that I can go without it for such a long period of time. I think I’ll be a healthier person if I can give up meat.

I find it easier to be vegitarian/vegan when I read the propaganda put out by vegitarian societies and such. I think I’ve rad evreything on the web over the years. Some times I forget a little and I jut have to pick up “Diet for a New America” by john robbins, read for an hour and I am back on the path.
If you don’t have a reason to be veggie, whether animal rights, health, environmental, or human rights, or anything else, you will probabaly have a difficult time staying on it. Good luck!

Ok let’s try again…. I was vegetarian for over 6 months last year.. until i don’t know how i stared eating meat again.. i was traveling and was really difficult to have a vegetarian diet over there.. anyways.. i’m doing it again, starting tomorrow! I did it once for the animals.. i’m still doing it for the animals, but also because of myself! I need to go down on at least 6% of my BMI so i want to start with the food, eating less fatty… i have all the willing, but i think that if i stay vegetarian for a year, i’ll stay forever!

As of yesterday (August 16th), I’m going lacto-ovo-vegetarian for a year. No meat, poultry, or fish. Yes to dairy and eggs. I could easily cut out eggs, too, but I don’t think there’s such thing as a “lacto-vegetarian.” If so, it’s too late – I’ve already had an omelet.
It shouldn’t be too hard – even I can turn down barbecued ribs or fish fried by my dad.
So as of July 30th 2008, I’ve been vegetarian for a year. I will probably start eating meat again soon. But nothing at all like how I ate meat a year ago. I’m very proud of myself for not eating any meat for the year. Good luck to everyone else ^^
