Tidy my porch

The porch is kind of a purgatory of things that are on their way into or out of the house. They seem to get stuck there so I’m wondering if this goal will ever get done completely. Right now there are less things and it is tidy, but not as clean as I would like it. I’m tempted to call those people on “clean House” but they only work in California and I don’t think my house is nearly messy enough. The places they do on that show are much worse, but I could have my own yard sale like they do on the show.

This is really one of those ongoing goals. The porch is one of those places that things end up going to when they are in the way, so I need to keep an eye on it. We really have cleaned it up lately, but I want to do more.

It’s getting cleaned. I noticed that the cardboard that I cut up was all gone. My inlaws must have taken it with the rest of the recycling. I’m hoping that I can get the rest of the cardboard cut up and bagged and finally I’ll have all of that off of the porch.

I keep thinking of going the ebay way with the rest of the junk like the old computer monitor. I just keep putting it off.

Someone bought the stove! That reall makes a lot more space on the porch. I’ve also cut up a lot of the cardboard for recycling. It’s a nice place to sit during the summer evenings so I’m looking forward to having it all cleaned up soon.

Someone is coming this weekend who might want to buy the oven that’s on the porch!

So far I have thrown out a bunch of packing material that was on the porch. You know, those plastic bags filled with air they use to pack things when the ship them. I think they were all from last Christmas. I also got rid of a bunch of those styrofoam peanuts.
Now there is a bunch of cardboard that I need to bundle up and recycle. That will make a lot more room on the porch for doing things people do on the porch. That will still leave the issue of the computer monitor (it works, if you’re interested) and the stove (which also works, I think.)

I just realised I did this ages ago. Some friends got me some shelves for Christmas, and another set for my birthday, so my porch is now organised – one side has shoes and things, the other side wine, beer and cans of stuff.
