GETTING STARTED.... 2 months ago

clutter... 2 months ago

So have you seen the show Horders??? Well I’m not quite there yet but it sure puts perspective on things ya know? My bedroom had looked like it would make the cut for that show if my mom hadden’t helped me to find the floor when the annual apt inspection time came. I decided it was necessary to get to the window in my room without having to climb over mountains to get to it!!
So, I want to begin one box at a time…reducing, reusing, and recycling…before it goes into the trash…I want to save the earth in the process:) My goal is to simplify the clutter and organize it all; wish me luck!!!

eddievonteese I wish I had more vacation, but 2 months is more than most get...

My apartment is sheer insanity... 4 months ago

I am ONE person. I live in a THREE bedroom home. I have this dream of one day owning an oddities museum, and my collections are overwhelming my life. I am an artist, and draw upon many things for inspiration. I also have tooooooo many things on the go.
(Tattoo studio, pinstriping, illustration, vintage clothing, reproduction and accessory store (online), painting, airbrushing, intaglio printmaking and B+W photolab, all in one house!!!)
On top of all of that I’m a full time high school art teacher (head of my department) and also teach liberal arts including law, journalism and media studies, so my house is full of books, journals, magazines, videos, file cabinets full of stuff, etc.

I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START!

OCD back in force! 3 years ago

Maybe it’s a side effect of not taking my migraine medication (which is also used to treat OCD), but organizing my letters and photos turned into “Eliminate all clutter and organize all of my personal effects” spree. I probably still can’t control my fate, but I feel so empowered because I got rid of everything that I had outgrown or wasn’t using, purged and organized all of my physical possession, and completely organized all of my files/records. The final step was this afternoon – I bought a fireproof case to store all of my vital documents. It’s been great finding stuff I’d forgotten about, realizing that a lot of crap you own is not worth holding on to, and generally feeling like I have more control in my life.
