43things popped in my head today and I’m so glad to have realized that I accomplished a goal during my hiatus :) Three shows at venues (st. vincent, tricky, and tegan & sara), blues fest, ska fest, etc, and free awesomely horrible cover band shows in surrounding communities. with all of the stress that comes with working and taking a full class load, there is nothing better than going to a random free show and dancing like a tard :)

...a gentleman on the sidewalk nearby was playing the clarinet. I normally hate that instrument, but this fellow was quite good. He played a rather austere version of O Holy Night, and it made me smile.

Which is a source of intense chagrin for me. Way back when, I even considered myself something of a “punk guy” who was “punk as fuk,” as was the expression of the time.
Now, though, I would stick out at most concerts… you know, I’d be THAT guy, with the fleck or two of gray and the tucked-in t-shirt. I’d look more like someone else’s chaperone. Ick.
Nonetheless, I still want to go to more concerts, even if they’re of the sit down variety.
Oi. Oi. Oi. Oi.

Moving to Dallas has helped me move toward this goal. I’ve seen some amazing concerts since I’ve been here. Better Than Ezra and Coldplay top the list!

Seen two concerts I want to go to but really dont have enough money for the high price of tickets. Maybe I’ll just pay for them on credit…Mars Volta and The Stooges if you were guessing.
