forgive someone who hurt you

it was typed but the words were an apology and asking my forgiveness for destroying our friendship.

I do forgive him. I just can’t trust him.

If he weren’t a liar we could still be friends.

But if you can’t trust your friend what is left?

Nothing.

is as much for me as the other person.

I was terribly hurt last weekend by a person who says he loves me. In his way I am certain that he does. I will not forget or let it happen again but I have forgiven him.

We cannot love others anymore than we love ourselves. That was a difficult lesson for me to learn because I expect everyone to be kind to those closest to them.

In the real world we are often kinder to total strangers than those we love or who love us.

I don’t know if I believe in unconditional love but I do believe in the power of forgiveness.
