Fell off the ball. Gained weight , mostly from having a stressful job. Went back up to 152. But I’m not giving up, and already lost four pounds.

I weighed myself this morning and got weights ranging from 150-157. But I’m going for 151 as I think that’s fairly accurate. I want to be 145, realistically by march/april. 3 months ago

How I did it: I set reasonable goals with no time limit because I wasn't trying to lose the weight for a wedding or party: I decided to lose the weight for me and for my health.
Move your body!
I am 5'11" and weighed 178 lbs at 21 years old. I started with a goal of 10 lbs, started walking every day for one hour (even in the rain!) and "snuck in" exercise whenever I could: always taking the stairs, getting off the subway 1 stop earlier and walking the extra 10 blocks - anything to get me to move.
My lifestyle change.
- I was working a desk job, so I didn't need to be eating a lot of quick-burning carbs like pasta and potatoes.
- I allowed myself pasta 2X week (I'm Italian!) and ate the recommended serving serving size.
- I went heavy on green vegetables, beans, small portions of whole grains
- The only sugar I allowed myself was from fruit (dried too, in very limited amounts).
- Minimal fats (tiny servings of olive oil - teaspoon per recipe), no cheese, etc.
- VERY limited intake of meat. Only white meat. Lots of beans!
- Cut back on alcohol in a big way. Switched from beer/wine to vodka or gin and soda with a lime wedge.
- I allowed myself to "cheat" 1-2x per month (never getting too crazy), and it made special occasions even more special
The funny thing is... After the weight started melting off, I started "cheating" less and less. I found myself making smart choices while dining out. I was having my pasta once a month maybe. I got so into the greens and beans and how good they made me feel that I didn't even have an
urge to eat crap anymore.Once you start seeing the results and getting the compliments, it's all downhill from there!

Especially when staying w family – the menu and even the timing make good choices and self control harder. About 100 WW points for the week above my normal… And came home to weigh in around 3 lbs above a week ago. Blech. Good start back today though, back in the routine. 13 months ago

Focusing on clean eating as a lifelong habit… Eat food, not too much, mostly plants, organic and pastured.
Oh, and I put away the size 16 and 14s. The 12s are great and the 10s will fit soon. :) 14 months ago
