In fact, I HAVEN'T "done this" but am doing it... 3 years ago

some weeks better than others, but still showing up.

However, I am on a Goal Simplification binge, and I am going to wrap this into my Goal # 5 (accomplish weekly fitness goals, covering cardio, flexibility, weights). I’ve been trying to track it there as well as here, and it takes too much tracking time which could be DOING time.

As for the rest of the team – kick butt and stick with it.

have succeeded on this 3 years ago

the last two weeks! Just been boggeying a little too much to track it here.

ANOTHER new chance! 3 years ago

2 done, 1 to 3 to go, week of Sept 4 to that sad day, Sept. 11.

Monday, Sept 11: Brisk, brisk hilly 45 minute walk with boyfriend just before dusk.

Tuesday, Sept 12: The Firm, Volume 4. Cardio intervals (with weights).

2 down, 1 to 3 to go for this week… and it’s only Wednesday! Yippie!

I ASK AGAINWHERE ARE YOU GUYS?

Okay, new week, new chance to shine: 3 years ago

2 done, 1 to 3 to go, week of Sept 4 to that sad day, Sept. 11.

Tuesday, Sept 5: 1 hour walk with boyfriend. Intensity: 4-5 of 10.

Friday, Sept. 8: UNreasonably intense cardio with the FIRM Transfirmner DVD. Tall box, low box, slant box, step, 4-limbed aerobic, et al… Major stuff! Intensity: 9 of 10.

Sunday, Sept. 10: Excellent and very sweet 50-minute 2 1/2 mile walk-talk with boyfriend. Intensity: most of the time 5 of 10, hill 8.5 of 10 (Last quarter of walk is the hill, and it is a righteous one). At the top: my pond. It was/is really cold, but I just made myself dive in, because Augist was a fairly cool month and I did not want to let winter come without having been in at least once more. It was bracing, to say the least, but felt SO good afterwards and still.

This means I have met the minium goal for this week. Yay!

This work-out week: Tuesday, Aug 29 to Monday, ept. 3 3 years ago

1. TUESDAY Cardio the first: areobic dance and “4-limbed aerobic” (with light weights, a la Firm). Intensity: 5 of 10.
One down for this week, 2 to 4 to go).

2. THURSDAY Despite being wiped out from a long day and it really getting very late and very dark, very fast, went out for a super-brisk 40, 45 minute walk-hike, on unpaved road through the woods. A little scary (as dusk turned to dark). A lot sweaty… which, since it’s 47 degrees out, means pushing it pretty hard. Intensity: 6-7 of 10. Two down for this week, 1 to 3 to go to meet my weekly goal).

Made it! 3 years ago

Made my overall fitness goals, but the part I really did best on this past week was the cardio – pushed it in intensity. 5 sessions. Whoo-hoo!

My calendar looks great – star-spangled.

Hey! Team! Where are you guys? 3 years ago

Time for someone besides me to post!

Misery may love company but I say self- and other-motivation and being motivated to get asses in gear REALLY loves company – even more.

week of August 22-August 28th 3 years ago

1. 8-22-06. brisk 30 minute walk from hotel to conference center. Intensity, 4 or 5 of 10.

2. 8-23-06: major hilly 45-minute hike with boyfriend, in the woods.Intensity, 5 or 6 of 10.

3.8-24-05: one of the inimitable kick-ass FIRM tapes, 1 hour and 2 minutes of serious sweating. Combines Step, cardio, kickboxing moves with weights. Intensity, 8 or 9 of 10.

4.8-25 Short (1 mile-ish) easy walk plus some on-foot erranding… not much but token get-your-body-moving-through space. Feels okay to ease up after yesterday’s kick-butt session.

5. 8-26 fast moving 3 mile hike, hilly, good, moving and grooving.

The week of August 15-August 21 begins with a splash! 3 years ago

Three to five aerobic/cardio sessions

1. Hike 2 1/2 miles, vigorous, 1 moderate and 1 very steep hill, fast-paced, followed by swim, 4 lengths pond (size of Olympic pool). Intensity: 7 or 8 of 10. Date: August 15. Notes: Pond was verrry cold. When I was 30 which was… jeesh! 23 years ago … I could swim 50 laps, or for an hour at a time, back and forth, back and forth.

I really don’t seem to have the wind I had then. Did 1 lap sidestroke, 2 breast stroke, and one Australian crawl (most aerobic). Was actually DIZZY getting out of pond, had to sit for second. I want to get in the pond as much as I can before winter – there’s such a brief window of time to enjoy it for swimming.

These walk/swim adventures also satisfy, in every sense of the word, my “Get out in the natural world” goal.

2.Sweated my butt off to tonight doing the incredibly intense Firm Complete Body Sculpting System2 with Aerobic and Weights DVD. Tough tough tough! Feels good to be back in the groove, though. Finished with 2 laps in the pond just after dark. Sweet.

3. Shall we say…”real-life cardio” in the form of… 30 minutes break-a-sweat furniture moving and running up and downstairs with stuff, followed a little later by a 20-minute walk, half of which was virtually straight up, and 5 or 10 minutes of vigorous climbing, hanging, moving play in one of the coolest playgrounds I have ever been to? Intensity: 4 or 5 of 10 (with a few 6 moments); Date August 18th.

Hey! This is my week’s minimum on cardio and it’s only Friday! COOL!

Week of Tuesday, Aug. 9 to Tuesday, Aug 15, 2006

THE PLAN (cross-outs are done)

Three to five aerobic/cardio sessions

1. _Vigorous three miles up-and-down, through-the-woods hike. _Intensity: 5 or 6 of 10. Date: August 8.

2. MEGA-cardio on elliptical at the gym! Haven’t done cardio this long or hard in a coon’s age. My used-to goal was 1 minute of cardio per year of my life… but you know, somehow this seemed easier when I was 45 than 53! Well, on date: August 9, I went to the gym and boogied. Did intervals on elliptical (one 8 minute, one 15 minute, 1 thirty minute) between weight sets. On the 30-minute set, especially, I pushed myself hard. Went up and down each minute; increasing intensity AND crossramp 1 notch up, staying there for30 seconds to a minute, then the next, then the next, then desccending. Intensity, 10 of 10. YAY ME!!! This in addition to a lot of erranding on foot.
This may qualify as _un_reasonably intense!

3. 1 3/4 hour walk/hike, some hills, some road and some woods, enough to work up a slight sweat, and another sweet walk-talk with boyfriend… Cool, late afternoon and BEAUTIFUL exploring several places we;d either never been on foot or never been period. Fun. He quoted Faust in German and then translated for part of the way: impressive and entertaining. Date: 8-11-06 / Intensity: 6.5 or so of 10.

*WOW… this means I have achieved the minimum I’ve asked of myself on this piece already this week ( and I still have 3 more days to go). What do you think, Jazz, Grover, Awesome, Lucky, Princess? Should I go for the gold?

4.

5.

How are you-all doing? Jazz, incl. Gallileo, Dondi, and Harry?
