Worth doing!
Little Bug,
My darling. Tonight you had trouble falling asleep, like Mommy, so I went into your room to rub your feet. These feet I would know in a crowd of a thousand children. This always calms you and soon you grew still. As I trailed my fingers softly underneath, I felt the thickening of skin, the slightly roughened heel, and I thought about how you are already becoming travelled and being marked by your world. I like to call you my girl, but you are your own girl, and one day soon you’ll know it, and I hope those precious feet don’t lead you too far away from me.
Love,
Mommy
