Rondrea D. Mathis is living a dream... living the dream...dancing, whirling, twirling...
I am so excited!!!!
How I did it: Well , there is a group near my campus that has spoken word and jazz playing. I went there and was able to listen to the band and also listen to spoken word... As a part of my decision to "dance" this year, I went up on stage and did an extemporaneous poem... It was really cool, and really unnerving... I loved it.

about this goal… but I haven’t been able to accomplish it yet. I have been trying but I just haven’t worked out yet… I won’t give up though.
I go to as many jazz related things as possible. I get that from my father. My middle name is Simonne (after Nina but with an extra N) & my brother’s middle name is Coltrane. This is Jazz Appreciation Month so you should be able to find something to go to but there’s always something available.
That’s me with Roy Ayers. I just took that this past Friday.
I’d say Ronnie Scott’s is a good place to see a jazz band/singer but it’s not as good as it was a few years ago… Been there about 50 times or so.. mostly to review and interview singers and that. but I have to say the first time I went there it was a huge thrill. My fav venue though and more moderately priced (If you gotta pay that is) is Pizza Express Jazz club in off soho square.. Fab acts there and great atmosphere.. less snobby than Ronnies for the most part.. Saw Jamie Cullum, Silje Neergard, Madeleine Peyroux, Mina Agossi, Monica Vasconcelos and Peter Cincotti there amongst others..
