I love being outside, but I am allergic to the sun. So I always over do it one day and then for the next month I just remember how bad I felt the next day. SO I have to be more careful to not over do it and then if I do over do it be brave enough to just go back out and enjoy the wilderness.

How I did it: I have learned to immerse myself in nature. I set up a routine. I walk my dogs -and my cat too!- every night. I think about the outdoors with an artistic perspective. I write poetry about nature. I turn down the music when I drive through scenic areas. I go to the park. I swing on playground swingsets and porch swings. I read my mail on the porch if the weather's nice. Basically I find ways to do what I do in everyday life outside, plus s… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We have been thinking about all kinds of ways to get out. Since it is October we have been going to corn mazes and pumpkin patches. Walking the dogs has been a great way to get out everyday. This summer we bought bikes and started riding them instead of driving. Read how I did it…

spent some more time outside when it’s been nice weather. Hopefully if the weather stays nice I can do this more!

Now that the weather has improved, I am going for daily walks during my lunch hour and gardening. Spring is here!!!
Being broke and having a house have been a good excuse to spend more time in the lawn. Saturday I picked up bagfuls (5 or 6) of seed pods from the #$*x%x^% Kentucky Coffee Bean Tree. And all the dog poop. By the time Sunday afternoon came around, it was so hot…just so, so hot…I didn’t even look at the mower until 6pm. Thank goodness my neighbors bought such a nice, powerful one…the grass was outrageous. My tiny little lawn took over an hour, and I emptied the bag 6 times…and I didn’t even get the side.
By then it was cooling down fast, so I turned on the sprinkler for the vegetable garden and let that get nice and soggy. The neighbor’s kids ran through the mist, and I soaked myself until all the sweat was gone. It was like being 10 again.
I found at least another bagful of seed pods hiding in the tall grass. That tree can start counting its days…they are numbered.

Sunny, so sat in garden for a bit. Ate some doritos, had an Innocent Orange Juice, and wrote some of my diary.

So the sumer is alost here now! This means that I can spend much more tie outdoors! :) During this easterbreak I’ve been spending many hours outdoors, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it! :D I’ve been puting flower seeds in pots and fixing with our pool and assembling our trampoline… And much more outdoors! It’s really nice but now it has becoe colder again so it’s not that fun beeing outside anymore but I still take my bike and go for three hour long trips, which is very calming and nice :) Now I have to study for a while and then I might go outside in the cloudy weather and jump on the trampoline… ;)

Sat on grass in town for a bit, in the sun, listened to Ipod and did some wordsearches. It was nice until the wind made it too cold though!

It was sunny today, so went to a cafe not that far from me with my mum (walked through woods to there). Sat outside, had a hot chocolate, toasted teacake, and calypo shots. Did a wordsearch, read some of a book, then sat near duck pond for a bit. Unfortunately it then got too cold because of the wind, so went home to warm house. It was nice though!
1 hour.
10 minutes biking to/from work, 50 minutes running on a dirt road. It was gorgeous outside.
Last entry I said this goal for me involved spending at least 20 hours a week outside. So as today was day one of this week, I’m now at 4 hours:
2 hours: rehabbing green house. After putting up new plastic, it got WARM in there. We also put up a rabbit fence along the inside (plastic sheeting only keeps little creatures away so well), and turned some old wiring in there into tomato cages and support walls for cucumbers.
2 hours: Mountain biking. My legs are shot. It was uphill on a sandy sandy road (sometimes wet and muddy), which was hard, slow work! It was in the 40s for most of the ride, although it dropped into the thirties on the descent. Brrrr! Still a good time though, glad I went.
