Go to a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Convention

Like in the past year, when I was introduced to BSG at the con by the actors being there, this year actors from “Eureka” and from “Terminator: S.C.C.” were present and I have now the first season each on DVD. Hope they’re good !

I’m back home and had a few days of good times !

This is the third year in a row I’m going to this con and it always makes me happy :)

I think the best part is that most everyone who is there, is there purely to have fun and those good vibes get transferred and amplified all around.

Of course there are also a few rough moments, especially when you’re standing in line for hours – by the time the con is nearing its end you really learn the limits of your body !

But those moments are soon forgotten when you get that photo from a photo shoot or remember that moment when the people in a panel can’t talk anymore, have tears in their eyes, because of that hilarious, unexpected moment that has just occurred.

Yes, I’ve already pre-registered for next year <g>.

I’ll leave for the convention tomorrow – so I won’t be online for a while.

This couldn’t have come at a better time, work has been so stressful this past two weeks, a couple days of fun sound just like the thing :)

• got a ticket to get me from my hotel to the con and back for those days
• printed out several things
• bought snacks to get me going while I’m there

... so I should start getting some things done in preparation.

I’m going to close this goal now. But only for this year, as I have already signed up for next year’s convention <g>.

And I’m still enjoying the aftereffects, like reading on the message boards what other people thought about it and remembering funny/cool things that happened :)

I did have a good time at the con, the second year I went there now. I always find it surprising how the energy and enthusiasm everyone emits is so contagious. A good feeling.

This week turned out much busier than I had anticipated and there was no time to make lists.

But I think I pretty much know what I wanna take with me.

Sooo… I’ll be off soon for, I hope, good fun time ! Yes, I’m getting excited :)

So I went to look for a jacket today – which turned out to be one of those frustrating shopping events. Apparently a light colour jacket, with rain protection doesn’t come in my size. I’ve never liked the time lost in unsuccessful clothes searching.

I then went ahead and picked up three new short-sleeved shirts, in case it suddenly gets sunny and warm – hey, I can dream, right ?

I did find the binder/folder though. My next step will be to make a list for things to take with me.

• a small folder/binder to put random papers I’ll collect when there, to carry around with me
• a new lightweight jacket ! Since I’ve “grown out” of the one I got last year and want one, that’ll also keep my head dry, when it rains and I don’t want to carry an umbrella, like to a convention <g>.
