sexynfit is searching the internet to find help w/losing weight
Yesterday my sister & I went to the gym to try out the spin class & when we arrived the class was already full. So instead of us getting back in our cars we decided to take a 1.5 mile walk around the track. We got a list of the classes the gym offers & decided that next week we’re going to try it again. I really feel great w/just doing the walk but would like a more vigirous type of exercise/cardio. I’m not going to give up on this & I’m going to be able to defeat this goal. I’m not a loser nor a quitter.

sexynfit is searching the internet to find help w/losing weight
I would like to take a spin class at least once a week b/c I hear it’s a good way to lose weight & get in shape. Losing weight is at the top of my list of priorities right now so whatever it takes I’m willing to at least give it a try. I had one bad experience the early part of last year I tried a spinning class that literally killed my butt! The instructor even gave me a larger seat…too much junk in the trunk. I was able to only do half of the class…I was drained, beat-down, barely moving b/c my buttocks & legs were on FIRE!!! I thought I was going to stroke out. Plus I was trying to push myself to keep up b/c ALL the other ladies in there were able to do it w/o breaking a sweat. But as you know they didn’t have anything to lose either…looking like Barbie dolls. They were just trying to stay in shape whereas, I was trying to get in shape. It was kinda embarrassing to stop in the middle of the class & walk out but I had no choice & this was suppose to be a class for beginners. But either I had to quit or they were going to have to call 911. However, I never went back again & as I said, this was a beginners class. Someone told me that I should have went back & each time it would get better…I just couldn’t. My butt was even bruised as if I had gotten an old-fashion beaten from my grand-daddy…he didn’t have to whip me but once in his life…OUCH! I still feel the fire from that belt on my behind. Don’t ever want to go through anything like that again…LOL!
Well I’ve once again teased myself up to try it again. Hopefully it will be better this time. I think I’ll invite my sister to come along w/me for motivation…to keep me going no matter how bad it hurts as long as it’s tolerable & I’m not bruising myself. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind going b/c we are both trying to lose weight so it’ll be beneficial to us both. Wish me/us well!!! I’m SCARED! I’m about to call the gym now to see what days they have the spin class.

oh my goodness—i left the spin class yesterday feeling like i hadn’t really had a good workout, but this morning my quads are killing me. Honestly, in all my years of actual biking, stair mastering, elliptical training, squat-doing, etc., I have never felt a burn like this. It actuallly kinda makes me want to try it again…

Well, I finally did it and showed up for the spin class today. I didn’t really like it all that much, which is disappointing because I’d kind of built it up as something I really wanted to accomplish. I’m glad I set it as a goal, and glad that I tried it (I know that having it here on 43 really helped me get it done) but I don’t know if I’ll try it again. My trainer says I should try any class three times before I reject it completely, but if I don’t enjoy it then why bother, right? I didn’t feel like it was a great workout for my fitness level either, so I’m considering this goal accomplished and moving on.

argh. i didn’t do it. :( no excuses, just didn’t get my butt out of bed and to the gym in time. (although i did indeed get to the gym and do 30 minutes each of strength training and cardio). okay, here we go again. next week my trainer is teaching a rebounding class – little trampolines, fun! – so i may do that instead next, but two weeks from today, 11:15, i’m doing it. (just posting it here makes me feel accountable, and like i’m going to have to explain myself again if i don’t. that’s good).

OK, this has been on my goal list for 9 months and I haven’t done it yet? It has to be one of my easiest goals to accomplish, I already have everything I need, I just have to show up and do it. OK, this Sunday at 11:15. I’m doing it.

I missed the class this past Sunday, but it is offered every week, so I will get tell myself every day this week “don’t forget, you have spin class on Sunday,” sort of get a running start by talking myself into it.

I’ll consider this goal achieved when I’ve taken just one class. I’ve never done it before, so I’ll see if I like it and if I do, I’ll set a new goal about it. I have my intro class on my calendar for this Sunday, January 21, 2007.

Spin classes are available all the time and it’s kind of a fun way to get the physical results from cycling without actually having to go out on the road. Bad weather does not get in the way here.
