I used to fly all the time, all of the sudden began to be sooo afraid….don’t even know why and don’t know how to stop it :(
How to not be afraid to fly
How I did it: A friend of mine told me she mentioned her fear to her doctor and they gave her a prescription. I did the same and my flight went great. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor like I was. It was wierd, but totally worth it.
Lessons & tips: It's always better to do things without medication, but if your fear is getting in the way of you going places, I recommend doing what you need to do. Since I fear the dentist too, she gave me some extra for that trip. The more often I go, the less fearful I will be, the less I'll need the medicine.
Resources: Xanax and the doctor.

The Costa Rica flights went fine. The big thing though, came when I planned to visit my sister in Los Angeles. Despite my flying fears, I’ve travelled by plane a lot, but I had never gone anywhere on my own. Long story short, I went to a hypnotherapist, and I’m cured! I really recommend hypnotherapy – it was basically a guided meditation. Very simple. Not sure if it’s right for everyone, but it’s worth a try – if I can fly by myself to California it definitely DOES work!
I was scared to fly after the twin tower attacks but i did in march to california and I love being on airplanes now!
I’m traveling to Costa Rica on the 28th for three weeks with my university and I’ve had problems with planes for a while. I’ve been flying forever..have been to Australia and Japan and those are super long flights. I still have anxiety issues hanging on though. Nothing super bad has ever happened..I’ve thrown up once, and I was younger. Even airports make me nervous, a few years ago I paced for about 7 hours waiting for someone to arrive, with a plastic bag just in case. I couldn’t even sit down. I also missed an entire group orchestra trip to Europe (a big honor!) due to anxiety, although I wasn’t aware that it was anxiety related until later. Lately, though, anxious situations seem to be diffused by crying. However, if anyone else is like me and are trying to take a natural route towards anxiety treatment, I just today tried for the first time 5-HTP which is a precursor to seratonin, and also the Bach Rescue Remedy. I was upset about something and it has since dissapeared and I feel good – what a nice opportunity to try it out. I’m planning on using these things on a daily basis to see how it goes. I’ve also been recommended to take active B6 but they didn’t have it at the store I was in. We’ll see how it goes!
Squirrel Hunter is not feeling it today...
to Las Vegas.
It’s pretty stormy here today, so I’ll see how I do tonight.
I hate being afraid of flying because I really enjoy traveling.
The last time I went flying was in Brian’s small airplane and I did pretty good, so I’m hoping that I’ll be fine for this trip.
