I’ve been juggling balls since I was a wee one. I got clubs many years ago, but they were terrible (Jugglebug padded clubs) and I used that as an excuse to put off doing much with clubs. Once I gave myself a fat lip practicing, but eventually I got the hang of it. Unfortunatly, I developed some bad habits along the way, so now I really have to work to make sure my pattern is wide enough for doing tricks.
It’s great fun, so much more… uh… three-dimensional then ball juggling, and it opens up a whole new realm of social juggling.
I’ve gotten reasonably good at 3-ball juggling and bounce-juggling. I can sort of fake contact juggling. Next frontier is the almighty clubs. After many bonks on the noggin, I can get through a single pass. I just need to practice more—but dropping all the time can be a pain, so I fall back on the funner stuff I already know how to do.
. . . If anyone needs a good learning video on this subject, check out “Club Juggling & Passing” by Haggis McLeod.
I learned how to juggle bean bags years ago. Almost two Summers ago I purchased some pins but have not had a lot of time to fully learn how to master that aspect of juggling. I finish graduate school this week and my freetime expands exponentially….maybe now I can learn to master pins.
