Reconcile Quicken and organize paperwork as I go

You know…you never hear people on their death bed saying if only I filed all my paperwork. Sure it’s one of those things in life that you need to do, and it does hold value. But there is more to life than cleaning house and filing paperwork…I guess what you would call the never ending goals in life.

The enternal question in life is how do you accomplish these goals with the least amount of effort so you can focus on the bigger picture? That is the question, but for now, I did spend a good hour going through paperwork and getting caught up on a few business calls/paying bills so I’m going to go spend some time towards the more important things and write my grandma a letter.

I finally made some progress with this goal this weekend. I spent most of Saturday going through my wicker baskets, shreding over one and a half bags worth of paper along with reconciling Quicken. I pretty much have a years worth of work to do since a lot of things got behind when I was sick earlier this year. But I made some really good progress. Maybe I can start to feel like I can tackle this in 15minute chunks worth of time since I properly got 1/2 through most of the work this weekend. yea!

I keep saying I’m going to get to this goal, but instead I keep just putting all the paperwork into piles. While I tend to be an organized person, I hate filing. So I’m going to set the goal to be just 15minutes a day until I can get this mess under control.
