Learned how to do this yesterday! I’m already finished with the ribbing section of the first glove of my fingerless gloves.
I can’t believe how easy this technique (Magic Loop) is!
I’ll post a picture when I get a little further on the glove.
I’m very happy I’ve learned how to do this!

the correct needles are on hand, and I have the yarn and pattern ready to go.
My friend S. is going to show me how to do “The Magic Loop method” on Sunday at our Stitch and Bitch!
The project I’m going to start is for a pair of fingerless mittens, but what the heck, gloves, socks, same technique!

I am one of those visual learners who much prefers to have a new technique demonstrated to me rather than read about it in a book.
A few weeks ago another knitter in my hometown contacted me on Ravelry. When I looked up her profile, it turns out that she is a prolific sock knitter. I have corresponded with her a bit, now we just need to find a convenient time and I think I can get started on this! I am excited to try this!

Today I picked up this book from the library: “Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles”. http://www.allconsuming.net/item/view/28634 The book appears to be quite easy to follow. I’m in the middle of knitting a pair of socks right now, and I wonder if I should try this technique for the second sock? It does indeed look like the knitting would go much more quickly without having to mess with all four double-pointed needles.
