stand tall

I’ve had one or two goals on here that I’ve hesitated over due to a sense of discomfort or embarrassment or some such thing. When I have finally taken the plunge and posted, there has always been a positive result. Here is another such goal.

As I’ve written it, this goal encompasses several things. It can be interpreted both literally and metaphorically. What I initially wanted to say was: stop apologising for myself. But I felt apologetic just for thinking about posting it :D! Also, it’s a negative wording and I’d prefer to focus more positively. Thinking more about it, I realise I don’t necessarily apologise for myself literally but I don’t always give myself sufficient credit and I don’t always stand my ground. I don’t accord myself sufficient value.

How I carry myself physically has an immediate and positive effect on how I see myself and my world.

Stand Tall; Be Noticed
Be Proud: my life has value
And purpose. Stand Tall.

it’s not only about having great posture, although that’s part of it. i want to stand tall mentally and physically. to feel strong and to be strong – to have my posture be an outward projection of my inner calm and confidence and fortitude.

which helped my posture. I am more conscious of how I stand now and have had someone comment on it!

I need to stand tall to straighten my shoulders. When I am tired I stoop and it aches after a while. Standing tall will help to correct this. Standing tall also helps me hold in my stomach (see my other goals), which not only looks better, but also protects my lower back.

Mentally, I need to stand tall in my own mind and remember that I am capable of doing so many things, many more than I am presently doing.
