I know I know it’s not that hard but with life in the way sometimes it can be difficult to find time for everything.
BUT I’m reading a little bit each week and taking the pracice tests each week. With any luck by the end of the summer I’ll be all upgraded.

Niel is figuring out if he likes what he's doing.
I’m getting this off my list. Amateur radio is just too expensive for me at the moment, and I don’t have the time or the knowledge to do it the cheap way.
The idea of talking to people on the other side of the world is very romantic, but it’s not very practical at the moment.
Before I get here should rather have the goal of actually using my ham license.

Well, I will be a new ham soon. I did the ham cram and passed the Technician test today. So I’m ready to get started with amateur radio. This will be fun.

I studied my ass off for about 2 months and finally took that monster of a test. Passed it…no more upgrading for me.

This is something I TOTALLY wanted to get since I was back in junior high school – my Electrical Theory teacher back then was a ham and encouraged our class to test for it, but morse code anxieties and other priorities pushed it aside.
I went to take my Technician exam this week on Monday and passed with only 2 questions wrong… I am STOKED and that “woulda coulda shoulda” monkey is off my back. I’m waiting for my callsign now.
I want to upgrade to a General class license soon this year, which is my ultimate goal.

It’s only one stinking written exam. But I’m having a tough time with the theory and physics on it. I’ll get there eventually though.
