    Seriously... 2 years ago

I’m a proud homeschooler. It annoys me when I’m asked if I do things like schoolwork in my pajamas or if I have a social life. I know a lot of homeschoolers who get to do things that other kids don’t because they don’t have the same freedom that we do.
It’s not easy and it surprises me how many people out there think it’s some piece of cake. It isn’t. It requires a lot of self motivation. If you mess up and don’t learn anything it’s purely your fault; you can’t blame a teacher or principal.

I want to become an example of how homeschoolers aren’t just “freaks” who never leave the house.

AHHH!!!!!! You homeschool your kids... WHY?!? 3 years ago

Okay, yes I will admit it I homeschool my kids. I Have for two years now. No, we are not crazy. (not usually anyway) No, we do not live in a rural area, or on a farm. (we live in Phoenix, the 6th largest city in the U.S.)No, we don’t have twelve kids. (we have four, sometimes that feels like twelve, but most of the time it feels like four.) No, we don’t “shelter” our kids. (If anything I want to expose them to more than the “average” child would be. Everything from guitar, gymnastics, and art. To understanding some of the bigger problems of the world, and how many people suffer, really suffer. My hope is that will first of all keep them from doing selfish things like drugs, and hurting others, and also inspire them to be a positive person of change in the world.) No, we are NOT religious fanatics. (In fact I would say we are not religious at all. Athiest, just sounds so harsh, but… I have 0 problems with someone being religious, in fact I envy them and the peace that they must have. I just don’t believe it. We have taken our children to church many times and if a pet dies I will say that it went to heaven. Maybe that’s me still being confused, but I think it’s also me allowing our kids to choose what they believe and feeling accepted in that choice.
