i have not really planned to eat snacks…it is so much healthier to eat the snacks and not overeat the unhealthy stuff later- i’ve been paying for it in extra pounds… so i’m going to get back on track and just mentally plan on eating snacks in between meals even if it’s just a piece of fruit- it helps soooo much. i am also going to start portioning my food again- so that i don’t overeat during traditional breakfast lunch and dinner meals
i have done it consistently in the past for about 2-4 weeks and felt great. it does take a little planning to kind of even out calories…but it’s worth it, i’ve just gotten lazy, slipped back in to my old ways. i am much more healthy when i do it…just something to keep working on, but i know i can do it, so i’m marking it done
well i was never overweight to begin with but i’ve lost about 3-4 pounds just since doing this and i bet it was fat because when i wasn’t on 6 ‘meals’ a day. my body was holding on to that extra weight and now i’m 4 pounds thinner. not bad- i have so much more energy and stamina too
are when i usually ‘jump off the bandwagon’ so to speak…but for the most part, i’m doing pretty well- i am so much more energetic because of this
a little harder this weekend, and i’m trying to figure out the right size meals still, but it is helping and not all that difficult for my lifestyle
i’ve been being more aware…and measuring portions so that i can get an idea of what is normal so i’m not overstuffed for my next minimeal..i’ve been trying to break them down into 6 meals of about 300 calories..which equals about 1800 calories a day…just right for me, i’m not overly obsessive about it, but it sure has helped with my energy and allowing myself to take breaks…go me, i hope to keep it up…i’m doing really well
i’m used to the 3 square meals, and i only recognize some hunger when it gets to be those times of day, i’ve been trying to break up my calories evenly throughout the day and i’m starting to recognize my body getting hungry 5-6 times a day versus 3…maybe before i was hungry between meals, but i would be so involved in my day that i would ignore it and then the hunger cue would fade into the background…one thing for sure, taking time to have a snack is helping me on my other goal of BREATHE!!! because I have to take time to sit and enjoy a snack and give myself a break, it’s been nice and I have noticed more energy throughout the day instead of slumping between meals. When I do eat bigger meals though, I have a small snack or no snack at at between meals because I’m really not hungry…that only happened this weekend because we went out to eat and I ate bigger portions then I would at home, because “hey, we’re out to eat and it’s ok to treat myself sometimes” so it worked out alright
sometimes it’s such a pain to eat…don’t worry i’m not an eating disorder person or anything…just there are so many more interesting things to do with my day then think about the next thing i’m going to eat, or when i’m going to eat…i’ve tried this sporadically a few times, but never really consistently, i’m sure it can really help…any suggestions for just REMEMBERING to eat in the first place and how to balance meals…so i’m not eating 6 BIG meals a day?? anybody?
