How I did it: I started collecting these when they first came out and it took quite awhile. I just looked through all the change I would get and all of the Quarters in the till at work until I finally found them all. Read how I did it…

Yes, it has been a while since my last entry but I have a few more state quarters to add to the list. Recently I’ve acquired Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, Michigan and today I found Main! I am now up to 37 quarters. Thirteen to go baby ….. woohoo! And then ….. there are the District of Columbia and Territories quarters to add to the collection. Ohhh I love this game!!!
I’ve always been a fan of picture quarters. I have all the Canadian picture quarters, but of course I had to make it very difficult on myself and collect the 50 American state quarters. I’ve never once visited the States so I have been pretty much depending on friends and Family who visit the states, random American quarters that end up in my change, and the till at work!
I’ve been collecting these quarters since at least 1999 when the US mint came out with them. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago that Ive gotten seriously into collecting the quarters.
For Christmas 2008, My uncle, who had recently been to Texas, gave me two books for displaying my quarters in. Now these books informed me that there are actually two copies of every single quarter! One from the Denver (D) Mint and another from the Philadelphia (P) Mint. So naturally I have to have them all! Soo collecting 50 quickly jumped to 100!! (the P’s and D’s can be found on the reverse side of the quarter for those of you who don’t know).
As of right now I’m only missing 14 of the 100!
Those being:
- Pennsylvania P
- Ohio P
- Indiana D
- Mississippi P
- Maine P
- Missouri P
- Missouri D
- Michigan P
- Texas P
- South Dakota D
- Washington P
- Idaho P
- New Mexico P
- Hawaii D
I’ve also found District of Columbia P & D from 2009!!

I have all of the Quarters to make two complete sets except for one Quarter in one set. All I need is West Virginia D and then I will finally be done.

.... I’m leaving today, I want to be a part of it, New York, New York! Yes folks, I have in my possesion, the New York quarter which brings me up to a total of 32 quarters. Anyone else still in the race of this quarter challenge?

I am missing 1 West Virginia D and 2 Hawaii D. I might just have to go buy these from a coin dealer at the flea market this weekend. I can’t stand being this close.
Stephmo Has at least one fantastic looking dresser right now...
Change again today at Lowe’s! That’s right, who says bull manure isn’t worth a thing? :) It’s a Minnesota Quarter, that’s what it is!
And now that you know my day involved 50lb bags of bull manure, you can just stay jealous of my glamorous lifestyle. I know JLo is probably totes seething…you know, as she reads these entries before she goes off to a red carpet event. (Who said growing up wouldn’t be exciting?)
