My vocabulary is not big enough, and I know a SHITLOAD of grammar, so… I really have to expand my vocabulary, and not be lazy xDDD I’ll soon end the Level 3 program. I asked my teacher what’s next, and she said ‘even more fun’ xDDDD
My ultimate goal is to be able to translate Japanese songs. I’m planning to become a session musician and go to Japan… well, I actually want to be everywhere, but I know I have to go to Japan first! xDDDDD

Getting better
It seems that by watching a lot of videos and dramas I’ve raised my level of understanding and a bit of talking too. I went to a concert where the singers talked for more than an hour non-stop and I understood almost everything. I was also able to chat with some fans, althought I kept saying I couldn’t really talk japanese, they kept telling me I was actually doing it <3<3
I’ve brought back with me kanji cards and I’m slowly filling them with the basic kanji list for the 4th level, although I know half of them already. It keeps me focused!

but I don’t want to let it fall by the wayside. I currently know hiragana and katakana, and have a very basic vocabulary.

calamar is waiting for a baby boy to show up
now i can devote at least an hour or two each day to getting ready for the JLPT 4. I starting reviewing the material and realized how much…not that I’d forgotten, but it had become slightly out of focus. Well, I should be in the clear now. So, I’m trying to view this loss of my job as something positive, and make something better out of it. More and more, I come to understand that there is nothing absolute, nothing predefined, we create and interpret our existence, sometimes with will power sometimes from habit. I guess I’m just trying to make more choices, better choices, and see the weight of the world as an illusion of habit, once I decide to look towards the dawn, I find myself light, free, and alive.

make sure you down load the rikaichan plug-in,
it’s the best, if you scroll over any japanese text
it will give you a dictionary style definition, very cool!

I printed out all the jlpt level 4 kanji and have to memorize them, then the 800 or so words….
luckily I think I already learned most of them and can just refresh my memory.

i signed up to take the jlpt 4 this december, thus I have no choice but to study. Also the incentive of someday living in japan for a while and setting up/working with an arts exchange program between the us and japan.
