What Was Lost
I’ve made a start on reading all the books that the lovely old man in Waterstones recommended to me and also all the books I’ve bought and have yet to read. I’m starting with ‘What Was Lost’ by Catherine O’Flynn because it had the brightest spine with big yellow text. I like yellow things. I like it a lot so far, its funny and kind of distantly sad at the same time. Well, perhaps the sad part is just me, because whenever I read books written from a child’s point of view I feel a bit nostalgic. I think I’ll lend it to Louise after because it reminds me of her. Its got these funny, simple observations and thoughts in it, like she comes out with.
“She wondered if any of the passengers ever took out advertising space on the bus, and what they would advertise if they did.
Come and enjoy my big, blue, checked shopping bag, it is filled with catfood.”

DJPimpDaddy is sick of refering to himself in 3rd person.
Make a list of all books that need to be read. Then list them in order on my blog. This seems to work for others on this forum.

I decided to just read a few pages a day on some of my longer books. I have 2 1/2 full size book shelves of books. Most of them are mainly fantasy, but I recently have purchased several books on newer subjects. I did make a choice not to purchase any more books until I have caught up on the pile. The good news is that there is a major chunk of books in a series that I have read, and I find myself re-reading multiple times. I should have more time to read new books if I would just stop re-reading excellent novels like LotR and the Dragonlance Trilogy.
Baby steps…always the better choice.

July 2005 i thought it would be a good idea to join a bookclub. WRONG. I never went to a single meeting. Why? because i never actually finished any of the books! I spent 3 weeks just trying to read the most boring classical civ book for college (it was the thinest text book ever too!) Then i was left with 3 weeks to read a fictional book which was sooo confusing and boring at first and was 500x the length of the civ text book! So i never finshed the first book, never mind the other 6/7. So my mission is to read them. Then i can give them to charity. But i must read them.
