Teaching Yoga 2 months ago

It was one of my big dreams to practice yoga and be really good at it. But I must in a way agree with Jess that it is close to impossible to master this fine art. It takes years of dedication and practice to be able to combine all the aspects of yoga effortlessly and smoothly into a whole. The pranayama, asana and submersion into self are essential practices for any yoga student.
I was lucky and privileged in that I got an opportunity to teach Yoga for a couple of months to a small class and pass this life changing practice on. And it was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve accomplished so far :-)

Let me rephrase this: 2 years ago

I’m never going to ‘master’ yoga. Therefore, I’d like to settle for a decent: Excel in yoga instead. I haven’t done yoga since my last post 4 months ago. It really had not been helping me much for awhile, therefore, I’m going to start back up on it when I’m feeling better.

Stress management? 2 years ago

I’ve actually been doing yoga quite a bit lately to help manage stress. Only problem is, it’s not helping though it used to. Hmm, don’t know why but I’m going to keep working at it anyway. Maybe i should try a more physical means of excercise to help… somewhere in the martial arts?

sheesh, it's been awhile 3 years ago

i stopped doing yoga a year ago, right after i became amazingly well at it, but i went and got a yoga mat a little while ago, and i’m hoping to start again soon ^^

well, maybe not "mastering" 3 years ago

but I’m finally on my way.

Ive been talking about doing yoga for over a year, but never actually started. I would do at home DVDs, but would always get so distracted that I would turn them off halfway through.

This week, I finally did it. Ive started going to yoga, and I’m feeling incredible. I’m even sensing an addiction coming on!

Ow... 3 years ago

I’m a fairly active person. I walk everywhere, I’m relatively “un”lazy, and I used to go to the gym all the time. I havent been in awhile because I moved annoyingly far from the gym, so my attendance has depleted rapidly.

My mother is a yoga nut and gave me a DVD for beginners and a mat for my 22nd birthday. I tried it for the first time last night, and after 10 minutes, my body was so exhilerated that I got a little dizzy and needed to sit down. This felt weird, but the immediate change that yoga gave me was unbelievable. I am going to take baby steps (I dont wanna pass out, haha) but I want to make this something that is so regular in my life that I couldn’t help but master it!
