I can run six everyday easily, I think next weekend I am going to plan to run 10 slow and steady and finally knock this goal off my list. I am in shape enough to do it, I just need to make time and go out there.

How I did it: Well my IT band (outer knee) didn't bother me AT ALL this time. First time in a long time. I had the knee band with me the whole time in case it kicked in. Finally my knee is adjusting. This is good news for the 1/2 marathon. So, all the usual suspects: carried water, hydrated consistently throughout. GU, energy gel, took that throughout. Key is to hydrate and energize before you're feeling depleted. Also I had great music on my ipod nano… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It was all in training for the half marathon I just ran. It was very important to get to that level before racing even more. The run was down the west side of Manhattan and it was beautiful. Read how I did it…
Paul is staying up too late once again
How I did it: Worked-up to 10 miles following a 13 week training program for the Detroit-Windsor Half Marathon in a few weeks. Long runs on the weekend with a mix of short runs, Tempo runs and Speed Work during the week. I started with a plan from Running Word's website and have modified it using Daniel's "Running Formula" book. Read how I did it…
How I did it: One step at a time. Just keep your mind clear and know that it is possible. Work up to this distance. You will need to drink plenty of water the night before. Also eat a little something before the run. A 1/2 banana with peanut butter provides plenty of energy. Read how I did it…

i think that running 10 miles is far enough to be considered an accomplishment however not so far that it is unreachable.
I do run everyday but just not 10 miles. I go about 5 miles. Not bad I just need to push myself to up my mileage. In two weeks I am running a 5k. Should be fun but not much help. Slowly but surly this goal is getting accomplished!!
Well today I made my first real attempt at running and I ran 2 miles straight plus about a mile walking. Hoping to run 2 miles a day for the next couple weeks and eventually get up to 3 miles in one shot!
My ultimate goal is to be able to run 10 miles in one shot by September 1st!
okay, not the fastest I can, but just as long as I finish my 10 miles, I’ll be happy! I haven’t ran more than 5 so this is definitely a challenge. I’ve been training and have signed up for a race in May. The hubz has even bought me a pair of real running shoes. I’m all set! Can’t wait!
which is 8 miles. I am pretty excited! Hopefully it will motivate me to train harder. I’m in school and work 25 hours a week so I defiantly need something to push me.
I should be posting on the half marathon board but oh well.
My official training starts in just a week. It’s an 8 week program.
I didn’t train for this one at all, so my time was way worse than I wanted it to be. I crossed the finish line in an hour and a half without stopping once! I wasn’t proud of the time, but that was the longest I have ever run for, and I did it without having run a step in a few months. Now to shave off a half hour or so!
Wow, the last couple of months have been so hectic for me I totally forgot about this goal :[ I haven’t ran in such a long time, I have to start over. I guess over the summer I will have ample time to start back at 2 miles and and increase my distance by 10% each week. Here we go again…..
working towards it. Getting better each day on running 2 miles. Should be able to run 3 miles mid of the month
