Yup – being boastful suggests that I am not confident of my achievements or potential for achievement. It seems mean not gracious.
How to be modest
It made me
content 
"I realised that blowing my own trumpet was a pre-emptive strike. It was a strategy to get appproval. I am confident enough not to need to deliver advance notice of my 'worthiness'."
How I did it: Well once i opened my eyes to my true motivation, I felt ridiculous still acting on it.

Lessons & tips: Self-awareness. Modesty comes from confidence. You already truly believe in yourself and are confident that others will feel the same way, without aggressive direction!

I don’t want to be a shrinking violet – but occasionally I perceive myself as being unattractively boastful. The pendulum swinging the other way. It’s okay – you don’t need to shout anything from the rooftops.
