How I did it: I worked a full time job and I also worked odd jobs to save the money. I started a $5000 tfsa and with that money I want to buy bonds or maybe invest it in the stockmarket. I also started a retirement savings account for a little over $4000. Read how I did it… 3 years ago
to put down on this house! I just hope that it will still be on the market when I can put the money down, lol.
Right now, I have $40 saved up. W00 H00. I did have over $100 but an emergency came up… sigh
anyway.
Goal: $4000
Achieved: $40
Remaining: $3960
How Long: Hoping to buy by May. if it’s still there so 6 Months.
Means: Avg of $667/ month needs to be saved.
Bottom Line: I am a college student, buying and selling used goods on my own. Can I do it? Only time can tell! 18 months ago

HELLO CAR!
Seems like a good early birthday present to myself, no? :) 23 months ago
So, unfortunately I had to pay $164 for contact lenses the other day, which I really think wasn’t worth it, but oh well. Then tomorrow I have to spend another $120 on a driving lesson. But I just wanted to document how far I have come.
Current Savings: $3808.63
Savings Needed: $191.37
Pretty fantastic, I think! 23 months ago
Updating this even despite knowing I have to drop over $300 on a window fan tomorrow. I just want to document the fact that I did make it half-way before my next paycheque.
I got paid back about $25, and my tip cheque was just over $75. Picked up some random change here and there since my last entry.
Current Savings: $3499.36
Savings Needed: $500.64
I know I probably won’t make this goal with my next paycheque, even if I do receive another payment of what I’m owed because my hours for this week and next are disappointing. But I’m fine with it. I’m proud to have made it this far and I’m really excited to make my first “big purchase” with my own hard earned money! 23 months ago
My original long-term savings goal has always been $5000. I am so close!
Current Savings: $3398.21
Savings Needed: $601.79
Between constantly working and slowly being paid back, I should reach this goal by the end of the month (if it’s another smooth month spendings wise!), which means I could very well be able to put down $5000 on a car as early as next month! 23 months ago
