Evacuate to somewhere cool this hurricane season.

I wish I had a motorhome to evacuate with so next time I have someplace to live if my home in inhabitable
I wish I could evacuate somewhere really cool like New Zealand or Scotland
I wish I could avoid contraflow, the causeway, etc.
I wish I could figure out a safe way to haul a LOT of gasoline
I wish “help” from the government was just that
I wish our fearless leaders could agree and be kind to one another
I wish I had a sexy man to haul me and all of my worldly goods FAR FAR AWAY
I wish everyone is safe and sound no matter where they go
I wish everyone could come back and make New Orleans the city that care remembered

This year, it’s a mandatory evac for ANY hurricane in the gulf that’s a 2 or higher. Whoo hoo. I am moving in three weeks, hopefully there won’t be anything until then.

June 4th is the first official day of hurricane season here on the gulf coast. All is clear. Anybody got suggestions of cool spots to evacuate to?

Ok. Not that I’m hating on anybody who lives in any one of those cities, but there’s gotta be a better way.

This year, I’m not waiting for that special moment when I hear the words, “madatory evacuation”. Know why because the next word you’ll hear is “contraflow”. For those of you who don’t know. IT SUX ROCKS. Imagine 13 hours in bumper to bumper traffic with your pets, your friends, your inlaws, the kids with death bearing down on you. Uh huh. More fun than surgery.

This year, when I even see a blip on the radar. I’M GONE. I’m taking my madatory vacation in Cali. I’ll send you a postcard.
