arturian is in a really good place in life!!!
studying sucks; bought Official GMAT review 11th edition as well as official verbal and quantitative reviews. Making my way through the official review first.
Will sign up for Kaplan in about 3 months.
How I did it: Close to 2 months of practice. Start with an hour a day, and as you progress you can increase the time.Make sure you do atleast 4 mock tests. And make sure you can do problems for a 4 hour test. You'll need the stamina for the test. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought the GMAT review (latest) edition and did the practice tests. But nothing in the books was able to prepare me for the endurance needed for a 3 hour test incl. the 2 intensive essay portions. I nearly did not finish one of the essays but fortunately scored a 5. The verbal was surprisingly okay, but I completely broke down in the math section. I was too emotionally affected by what I know and didn't know to concentrate on the questi… Read how I did it…

I want to take my GMAT this year. I need to discipline myself to study for it. I’ve been out of school for a few years now. I know math is going to be my biggest thorn so I bought a study guide to start refreshing and may take math class..I need to check at the local colleges to see if I can get in one.
geemant Has claimed victory on the CPA exam! Praise God!
I’m currently taking a Kaplan GMAT class – I just took 1st class was absolutely crazy- very humbling experience. I couldn’t believe I didn’t remember what prime numbers were lol.
For those who are in the process (who have been out of school for a few years), did you intially feel overwelmed? How long did it take to get in a rhythm? What were your intial experiences?
So I’ve realized that I tend to get freaked out on things that I am not sure I’ll do well in. Hence my annoyance with this friggin GMAT. I’m studying and diving right in. I’ve waited long enough to take the leap.
momentme is work hard
GMAT…I’m back! Plan to take it in Aug 2008
3 more months to go!
cheers me please!
I am starting at a base of 700 which I got in my first test ever. Need to reach the 780 by the end of March when I am planning on giving the test. Need to start studying at least 2 hours a day and giving tests every weekend. Alternate between Math and English.
Need to improve my tests results by almost 10 points ever week to reach this goal. So gonna keep posting my results as the weeks pass.
Staring Jan 2 and ending last week of March.
So that means I will need to do it to have my performance review go well…or at least part of the 5% of my review that is tied to this! LOL
I studied hard for this. Even though I usually do not do very well on standardized tests, I made a 630 (79th percentile). That along with a 3.8 undergrad GPA was more than enough to get into the MBA program of my choice. I say it’s not worth it because if I had it to do again, I would NOT have gotten my MBA because it hasn’t helped me get a good job without relevant experience.
I have alotted money for this in November. My company will pay for 75% of my tuition after I enroll in an MBA program, so I just need to take this first step of taking the GMAT. I hope I haven’t been out of school so long that I don’t remember simple things! I must study!
