was born and raised there.

I lived in Northern Sumatra. There was an old guy who sold live bats on the street near our house.

I probably won’t get it (not a lack of positive thinking, just a big dose of realism) but how freaking awesome would it be?

A good mate has just got himself a job in Bali and it comes with a 8 bedroom house, servants quarters and a guest house. So I am planning to visit him next year and scope out the options of living there.

Although I am not really interested in living in Bali, I would prefer Jakarta

Indonesia is a beautiful country, filled with culture, beauty, corruption, cheap goods, and lots of monkeys. Living in a third world country is rough, but you learn to appreciate your life in the States so much more by living life as a commoner in Indonesia.
