How to learn Twi
How I did it: I went to live in Ghana for 6 months, while I was there I made friends with lots of people who taught me, one Kwadwo Frimpong Owusu, was very helpful. He teaches, Akuapem Twi in a school in Medina, Accra, near where I was staying. Everyday I sat down with a small book and wrote down phrases sentences, grammer anything that i'd learned. The big help was my teacher Mr Frimpong because he was able to show me how to write things that I wanted to learn about. Im still learning.
Lessons & tips: "Kakrankakra, na akokɔ bɛnuom nsuo" Little by little the chicken sips the water. Make sure the things you are learning are relevant and everyday make sure you practise the things you have learnt. Have fun with the language and don't be afraid to speak.
Resources: Good friends who have time for me. A book and a pencil. Plus the new Twi dictionary.

With friends from Ghana, I am interested in learning more of their language Twi. I will start with very simple phrases & move on from them.
I’m going to Ghana in June 2008, I’d like to be able to speak basic Twi, to make communication easier.
I want to learn twi because I love Ghana and I want to be able to talk like a native. I’m planning to visit during the panafest festival in July 2009.
I started taking a twi class a few months ago but I am still taking baby steps in terms of speaking the language. I have all of my tapes and the book so I plan on brushing up on some basics.
